Wednesday, got up and got my latte, got parked on SL, and got Casey up, dressed, and fed. Dropped him off at school, and then came back home and got on Conan. Dave had the day off of work, since he’s a government employee, so I was sure to work on my laundry throughout the day so he wouldn’t have that to bitch about.
After Casey got off school, we had just a little while to relax before it was time to take him to a doctor appointment, just a regular check-up. It went well, he got a flu shot. He wasn’t happy about that but he did good, so I gave him a choice between getting a happy meal or getting a small surprise when we got home. He picked a happy meal.
Dave had spent the entire day lounging around, resting since he has a bad cold. Then in the evening, Casey wanted his attention, and Dave was trying to do his homework. He went off on Casey about always distracting him when he’s trying to do his homework. Normally, Dave’s at work and can’t do his homework during the day while Casey’s at school, but on Wednesday he had all day to work on his homework without Casey in the house, and he chose to wait until Casey was home to work on it. I think that’s bullshit, to bitch at Casey like that, when he could have had his homework done earlier.
After getting Casey to bed, I watched a couple episodes of Criminal Minds. It kinda got me wired, so then I got on Conan and tried to wind down a bit. Ended up staying up too late, but got to sleep ok.
Thursday, got up and got my latte and parked on SL while getting Casey up, dressed, and fed. Dropped him off at school, then came back home and got on Conan. I crafted a bunch of pieces for the jungle base the night before, and had them loaded on one of our pets for easy transport. On the way to the jungle, I had to cross a valley via an elevator. Somehow, while I was on the elevator, the pet died. I’m not sure if she tried to teleport to me halfway across the canyon, or if she ended up in the giant sinkhole at the start of the elevator, or what. I spent a lot of time looking for her body, but couldn’t find it anywhere. After a while, I checked the event log again and saw that the items she’d been carrying were lost. Just wonderful. I’d completely cleaned us out of stone and wood already, and also about half our steel, and then this happened. I was so pissed. I got to work trying to replenish everything, but it would be a long process unless anyone was willing to help.
Colin was in a bad mood, and Skype was misbehaving as well, so it wasn’t a good start. I suggested maybe going off and him going back to bed, but he didn’t seem to want to. He was also lagging bad on the game, and bitching about that a lot.
In the afternoon, I went to a couple stores. The first was just one of the other grocery stores in town because I knew they had peanut sauce and needed it for a recipe. The other was Ace Hardware for some of the Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day products. Went back home after and got the stuff put away, and then went to pick Casey up from school.
He sat on the toilet for probably 2 hours. I lost track of time because I started cooking dinner after a little while. I wanted to eat early because we had a cub scout meeting afterward.
Cub scout meeting went ok, only 2 other kids were there though. We didn’t have much to talk about, but the kids that were there worked on another core adventure. Then we wrapped things up.
Got Casey to bed and got back on Conan. Got some help from a couple people, who donated everything I needed to not only craft the pieces, but also replenish what I’d used shortly after the pet loss. So, I crafted the pieces, and leveled up twice from the crafting xp. I hadn’t gotten all that crafting xp the first time around, and Colin mentioned it maybe being something we lose from lag.
Got to bed a bit later than I would have liked, but not too late.
