Wednesday

I got up and got my coffee while the computer booted, then got dressed while also getting Casey up, dressed, and fed. I dropped him off at school at the usual time, then headed back home.

I took care of my free book & paid emails as they came in, then got started on the slow cooker baked potato soup I was making for dinner.

Once I was done getting everything in the slow cooker, I got on Blade & Soul to check things. I was mainly curious about the length of time remaining on my premium subscription. I simultaneously checked Fallout 76 on the Xbox for new freebies.

After I was done checking those games, I told Cyn I felt like getting on Astellia. She joined me, and we worked on a side quest in the last area we’d been questing in before moving on to the next area.

I picked Casey up from school at the usual time, then headed to Family Vision Center to pick up his glasses. He was excited because of how sharp and clear everything was while wearing them. To put it in perspective, my prescription is in the ballpark of -8 while Casey’s is at -1. While he can see without glasses, it’s a bit blurry. With glasses, he can see farther and everything is easier to see.

Once we’d gotten his new glasses, we headed back home. He started talking about a game he wanted for the Switch and checked the price. It was a $60 game. My parents had given him $20 for Valentine’s Day. So Casey was wanting to know how much money Dave and I had. Dave had none and I was trying to avoid disclosing how much I had, so I went and grabbed Casey’s wallet to see what he had instead. It turned out he had $50. So I took $40 of it and used my personal debit card to buy him the game. He spent the rest of the day playing that.

I got back on Astellia with Cyn and we did some dungeons and worked on questing in the new area. We kept working on that throughout the evening, up until it was time to get Casey ready for bed.

I’d texted Brad, encouraging him that he was over halfway through the 2nd week of training, but he responded that training was done. He was super stressed, though, because he hadn’t gotten his final paycheck from the food pantry yet. I offered up if there was anything I could do to alleviate his stress, and he indicated he was low on cigarettes. I was happy to get him some and said I’d like to hang out as well. He said of course, and we made plans for me to go over there around 9.

Once Casey was snuggled into bed, I finished getting ready to head over to Brad’s house. I stopped at Kwik Trip on the way and got to his house almost right at 9. We hung out for a few hours, watching Louder with Crowder together before eventually heading up to bed.
