Tuesday

Got up and got my latte, got parked on SL while getting Casey up, dressed, and fed. Dropped him off at school, then headed back home and got on Aura Kingdom to relist items on the auction house. Once that was done, I got on Conan to refresh the bases.

Then I remembered I was supposed to send money to school with Casey for a Tasty Treat after lunch, as it was Tasty Treat Tuesday. They were also selling “Smencils” for $1. So, I got the money put in envelopes and took it to the school quick.

When I was getting ready to leave, I heard the garage door open then close. I was pissed, wtf was Dave doing home? The last thing I needed was to have him home again after what he’d pulled on Monday. I never did run into him on my way out the door, so I wasn’t sure what was going on. When I got home, the house was deathly quiet. After a short while of no sounds coming from anywhere, I checked and the garage was empty. He must have just forgotten or needed something.

Settled into some DDO solo action while waiting on Colin to get back from his art class. Once he was back, I invited him to play with me on our mains. We worked on some of the shorter dungeons, then headed to the waterworks to get started there. Mostly I was just showing him around the place and we were able to sorta work on the slayer quest for the zone. I also ended up resetting my enhancements after we were done, because I felt they could be a little better.

Then it was time to go pick Casey up from school. I talked to Colin while I waited for the bell, then went and got Casey. Came back home and had him sit on the toilet for a short while, and then it was time to go to his dentist appointment.

While he was in with the dental hygienist, I read a bit of the next chapter of More Than Two. It was just as helpful as the previous chapter, so I was glad I’d started reading it.

They said he has no cavities, which is good, but that they think all the tartar buildup is from him not relaxing his lower lip to brush thoroughly enough. They said there was also a lot in the back, though. Overall his checkup was good, we just need to work on preventing that tartar buildup. I told him we were going to start brushing twice a day and using a flosser every night.

Since he was cavity-free, he earned a free kids meal, on them, at the Ground Round. So, we headed there. I sent Dave a text letting him know and inviting him to join us. He never showed up, but we enjoyed our meal and time together anyway.

When we got home, I saw that there were absolutely zero dishes in the dish drying rack in the one side of the sink. I hate to think of where those dishes got put, but was glad he’d taken initiative to put them away. Honestly, I’m not his fucking maid, I never was and never will be.

We got a package for Casey from Dave’s Aunt Debbie. It turned out to be baby girl clothes, so we assumed they were meant for baby Ruthie, which is Dave’s brother’s daughter.

Casey wanted to watch a movie, and asked Dave to watch it with him. Dave had homework he needed to work on, so Casey wanted me to come down there instead. I told Casey my knee was bugging me and I thought I shouldn’t go downstairs, but that I had a DVD player I could plug into his computer if he wanted to come up to my room and sit by me and watch it.

That was a fiasco in and of itself. Apparently, with Windows 10, they have taken away the ability to just put in a DVD and watch it. They want you to pay $15 for an app that lets you do it. There are “free” third party apps as well, but they all seemed to be “Free Trials” or ad-supported. That’s a crock of bullshit if I ever heard of it. I finally found some software I could install that came highly recommended, so put it on both of our computers. Then, the disk wouldn’t play. After all that hassle, the disk had a huge scratch on it. Casey said there was another movie down there he could watch, so he went and fetched that disk. It was scratch-free, so he was finally able to settle in by me with a movie.

I did a bit of Facebook scrolling while he watched the movie, while occasionally looking at his screen and semi-listening to what was going on in the movie. I was getting more and more tired as the minutes wore on, and Casey let out a yawn earlier than expected as well. So, around 7:30, I had him get started on getting ready for bed. I promised him he could finish watching the movie Wednesday.

Once Casey was in bed, I was ready to crawl into mine. Dave was still up, and I was hesitant to crawl into bed until he was getting into his, for fear he would chastise me for not having done the dishes during the day. So, instead, I scrolled through Flipboard a bit to catch up on the news. Once Dave was in bed, I got into bed myself. Had a bit of trouble getting to sleep, but I used that time to stretch and relax my increasingly sore neck and back, hoping for some relief there.
