Thursday

I woke up to the sound of the doorbell ringing, jumped out of bed, and let Casey in. I made some coffee while the computer booted, then got his lunch packed and we headed out the door.

I headed home for a while and took care of my free book & paid emails, then got started on Census work. It was my first day in production and I was nervous but knew I’d do fine. Most of the addresses I went to for the Census work either could not be found or had no one home. I think I only spoke to 2 people for the entire 2 1/2 hours I worked.

Instead of heading straight home after I finished the census work, I went to Walmart to get some hair spray. I’d run out the night before and need it for when I put my hair up for work. As I was walking out, I noticed the salon looked fairly empty, so I asked if they had any openings. The girl at the counter said it would only be about a 5-10 minute wait, so I put my name in. I ended up getting about 4 inches chopped off, getting rid of the layers. I loved how the layers made my waves look, but never felt like they could quite get all the split & dead ends when I got it trimmed.

I headed back home for a few minutes to put my hair back in a ponytail, then went and picked Casey up from school. We had a while to relax, so I spent it doing the rotations on the games for daily stuff.

I had an appointment at 3:15 for physical therapy for my back pain. It went well, they were able to identify the problem and give me a couple basic stretches to start doing to work on alleviating my pain. I am to avoid twisting, especially when at work lifting heavy objects. Instead of twisting, I should turn my whole body.

I got a text from Dave as we were wrapping up physical therapy. He was asking if I was dropping Casey off. He was already at my apartment even though it was only a little after 4. I called and said I had physical therapy, so he said I could drop Casey off at his house.

We came back to my apartment to get Casey’s things, then I dropped him off at Dave’s. I was feeling rushed because I like to take my time getting ready for work, so I quickly headed back home.

As I was getting ready for work, I accidentally took my nighttime meds instead of putting them in a container to take with. I’d done that once before, but it was a shift that started at 8 so it wasn’t really a big deal. I’d already had a busy day and felt like I was running on fumes as it was. It would be challenging to make it through the workday.

When I got to work, I explained what had happened. Unfortunately, the person I was supposed to be closing with had left early himself. They’d called in Sam, who usually works in the kitchen, to cover until Justin was done in the kitchen. Then Justin would be closing with me. This was not good, I was feeling really drowsy already.

Amanda ended up sending a message to Britney asking if it would be ok for me to contact Cheryl about coming back to close. Britney said that was fine, so I called Cheryl and asked if she could come back in. She said she could. While waiting for her to get there, I did everything I could do to make sure Cheryl and Sam/Justin would have an easy night. Amanda had gotten the machines cleaned before I got there, so I worked on the cooler, the meat case, and inside garbages. Cheryl got there as I was about to go stock the beer cooler, so I went ahead and left.

By the time I got home, as exhausted as I felt, I was also anxious about potentially getting a response from Brad. I talked with Cyn for a while until I finally was nodding off. I hadn’t gotten a text from Brad anyway, so I just went to bed.
