Brad got up before me to let Bailey out. I stayed in bed for a few minutes, then got up myself. It was around 9, it was nice to sleep in a bit. I got dressed and headed downstairs, and he said that he’d gotten an email from work that he needed to go in since he wasn’t at his 40 hours yet. I got woken up a bit and headed to Walmart to pick up an order that was ready before heading home.
I got some coffee while the computer booted, then took care of my free book & paid emails before getting on Black Desert on the Xbox. Casey was busily working on creating things with construction paper, enjoying his “no electronics” weekend. Wednesdays were supposed to be the days he went without electronics, but he said he wanted more time to play with his toys. It’s as though he’s not understanding that he can play with his toys whenever he wants, that he doesn’t have to have enforced time away from the electronics to do so.
Casey ended up getting a train set put downstairs for him to play with. When Dave saw that he was busily putting it together, he commented that he must have caught me on a good knee day. Dave ended up going over to Jennifer’s shortly after, without saying a word to me about it.
Casey spent the rest of the day bugging the crap out of me, acting squirely and not taking any of my suggestions about what to do. He pissed Max off a few times with the behavior, and almost got bit. I finally got him to sit down and work on some math, which is something he wanted to do over the weekend anyway.
I was relieved more than I should have been to finally get Casey tucked into bed, earlier than anticipated. I continued playing Black Desert until nearly 3am, enjoying the peace and quiet and yet feeling incredibly lonely as well. I just wanted someone to talk to, verbally. It would have been perfect if Brad had come over, but I didn’t expect to hear from him. So when I finally got to bed, it was when I was finally able to sleep anyway.
