Casey's birthday was yesterday. I sent him a text early in the morning, but he didn't respond. Then I tried calling him in the afternoon, but he didn't answer. That's the part I don't like about this whole co-parenting thing. Missing out on big days because he's too busy to talk to me while he's with his dad. But I get him back today and we're going to have an amazing time for his birthday.
I realized on Friday or Saturday that I hadn't actually planned anything for his birthday, other than to give him a couple of small gifts. His big gift this year was a new set of Joy-Cons. I quickly ordered some decorations that Amazon said would be here today and got in touch with Alicia who is a friend of mine and works in the Bakery at Molter's. Everything came together beautifully. The cake was done around the same time that USPS dropped off the package. I got the kitchen table tidied up and will be decorating shortly, then will head to the store to pick up the cake and fill balloons.
Other than preparing for Casey's birthday, not a whole lot has been going on. I had to drive him to his dad in the rain on Friday and that was a nightmare. But I made it there and back in one piece so I guess it wasn't so bad. I leave in a little over an hour to go pick him up in Dodgeville, so I suppose I better get my butt going so I'm not late.
