Ugh not again…

Saturday, December 5, 2020

I dropped Casey off at Dave’s, then headed to work bright and early. It was an 8-hour shift, which was nice. I was pretty exhausted afterward, but stayed up and played Black Desert until a reasonable time.

I had to be at work bright and early again, but only for 4 hours this time. Afterward, I spent the day playing Black Desert.

Aside from a shopping trip at Walmart, I spent the day at home while Casey was at school. After school, it was time to take Max to the vet and say goodbye. I stayed with him throughout the entire time until he had passed. I started crying as soon as the injection was given to him.

I had to work at 8pm. When I got home, I wound down by playing some Black Desert, then headed to bed.

Needing to stay busy to keep my mind off of Max, I ended up rearranging my living room. I didn’t like how cramped it felt, or how awkward it was for others to get into the sitting area if I was at my desk. When I was done, I was really quite pleased with how it turned out.

Casey’s teacher came out to my van at the end of the day to let me know of an incident that happened that led to him having a meltdown. All the kids were throwing balls into a wagon at the end of an activity, so Casey did too. They weren’t supposed to have been throwing the balls, they were supposed to be placing them in the wagon. Well, Casey’s ball hit another student and Casey got in trouble for it. I had to go inside the school (totally not allowed either, with Covid) to talk to him and escort him out of the building. Eventually, he told me that he felt singled out because no one else got in trouble for throwing the balls.

Casey’s teacher had also said that he’d been disrespectful since returning from Virtual learning. I was not pleased. He asked if his electronics were taken away, and I said that he needed to at least do something else for a little while. He played with toys for a while and then asked if he could get on his Switch. I said it was ok. I wanted to play Minecraft with him anyway, so we did that together for a while.

I spent most of the day just hanging around the apartment enjoying my new space. I wasn’t really feeling like doing anything on Black Desert, at least not alone, so I wasn’t really doing much of anything.

I found out that my new Switch Lite was out for delivery, so I was excited about that. I did spend a bit of time looking at games in the e-shop to see if there was anything I was interested in.

I went to pick Casey up and he ended up getting brought out by Mr. Wolf. He’d been crying in Mr. Wolf’s office for 2 1/2 hours over an incident that happened at Math where Casey was doing something incorrectly but insisted he was doing it correctly. Casey told me he felt like people were treating him differently since returning to in-person school. He insisted that all the other kids were doing the math the same way he was. The teacher called me and explained the differences in what he was doing and what he was supposed to be doing, and why it was wrong. He finally understood. We talked about it for a bit, and Dave came to pick him up early so he could be in on the conversation. We agreed that the electronics needed to be taken away, at least until we found out how the next day went.

I had to get ready for work but got a few things started downloading my Switch.

A guy I’ve been talking to named Evan stopped by to meet me at work. He’s cute enough and nice, and I smile when we chat so we’ll have to see how things go.

After work, I did a few things on it but pretty much headed straight to bed.

I spent the day working on getting games for the Switch. I even ran to Walmart and found a Carnival game set for me and Casey. I had to get 2 copies so we could play online together. I also bought us each a copy of Lego Worlds (digital download) because I’d tried it out on the Xbox and knew I wanted to play it with him. The rest of the games I downloaded were free, and a few of them were games I’d played previously on the Xbox (like Fortnite). I did try out a couple games, DC Online and Onigiri. Both were cute and fun.

Casey had a good day at school, so I was happy about that and let him have his electronics once he got home.

I spent quite a long time chatting with Evan in text, and he seemed very unsure about things. It sounds like he didn’t think someone as hot as me would be interested in a guy like him. I know I’m good looking, but damn! Lol talk about making a girl blush!
