So, I’ve already had a rough week, my heart palpitations started again. I haven’t been to work all week. It’s kinda hard for me to talk on the phone all day when the act of talking makes me short of breath, which then causes chest pains.
Well, on Thursday morning, I was having some bad pains in my belly. Dave took me to the ER, and they said that now is about the time my uterus is rising out of my pelvis, and with all that movement it’s not unusual to experience pain.
Then, last night, we were just about to go have dinner, I went to the bathroom and noticed quite a bit of blood. More than just spotting, enough to freak me out. I started crying and Dave walked in, saw it, and we rushed to the hospital.
The doctor last night needs a major attitude check. It reminded me why I stopped going to Illini.
She said that I have a low-lying placenta, also known as placenta previa, and that it causes the pain and bleeding. If it doesn’t rise up by the time I’m in my 8th or 9th month, I’ll have to have a c-section. She said that most of the time it corrects itself, though. I am to rest all weekend, and return to the ER if the pain or bleeding increases.
